1. me fooling around with the camera and the girls.. This is Hannah.

2. This is kylee

3. Hannah after her first bath with mommy solo- it really was not that bad again i was say its all about setting yourself up to succeed.

4. Kylee practicing her crawling basics.

so i had an entry for the 26Th and for some reason it did not post it.

So being that it is three days later i will do the best i can to recapture it.

The girls are all better, we took them to the Dr and he said that they have both gained a pound in one week so they are eating well. Hannah will be caught up to her age range for size and development bu two and a half months Kylee by the time she is three months old.

We asked the Dr about Kylee's hemangioma- its really common and not much to worry about- he said well just that its really quite common and we will refer you to a dermatologist-- surgery is not really needed.

Of course later that night on our local news was a Dr in Tampa who specializes in them and he feels that the sooner you remove it the better so we don't really know if surgery is the tight thing or not... keep reading ill update

Hailey is doing very very well in school- she is starting to get into a good routine... she did just start school the weekend after the girls so it was a little crazy for her the first month or so..

I was by myself - tony was at work and my dad was gone running errands - for about five or six hours today.. i did awesome. I just set them up so I can feed them and change them and change there clothes all at the same time... i can be done with both girls in thirty minutes start to finish.

starting on Monday i will pretty much be here by myself from about eight till about seven or eight at night- my dad will still be here for a while but he is planning on leaving in the every near future.

i hope that you are enjoying the blog and the updates on the girls-- but even if no one is I'm enjoying it alot of this is such a blur i cant remember yesterday let alone last month, so its nice for me to get to come on line and see what happened all over again.

1. The patio with all the water on it..

2.These are all the towels that we used to soak up the water... as well as the carpet.

3. the girls on our morning walk, i have the double stroller but that thing is a pain so as long as they will both fit in this one we will be using it.

4. the girls just being cute kylee is on the left hannah on he right

5. Up cose of the girls on our walk.. they really enjoy going outside.

so the other day i was in the nursery... and i started to hear a funny noise coming from the back kitchen sink--- a hissssssssss noise that i had never heard before. I went to get tony to ask him about it. He said that he would be back there in a minute or two... well we did not have that long.

when i walked back into the kitchen there was WATER everywhere... the main water supply line to the back sink had ruptured ( due to dry rot and age )- it did not help that the landlord got a crappy hose in 1979 when he installed the damn sink to begin with.

So the entire nursery was flooded with in a mater ot minutes about 7-10 minutes. We had to rip up the nasty smelly wet dirty carpet. Then we had all this standing water that would ofcourse create mold... and that is not good for preemies. So we had to sweep the water out into the patio.

the landlord got us nice new carpt for the nursery... if i had known that would be all it took i would have flooded the room long ago hahaha

all is well with us helen just left this morning and it is just us from now on aahhhhhhhhh- just kidding we will be fine we have a great system going on and as long as we stick to the plan we will be fine..

so i told you that we got flu shots... well both tony and i got sick i of course got a little sicker than tony did...

then the girls also got sick first it was kylee and then hannah also got sick and i guess that is par for the course, that when one gets sick it will get its sister sick... Yippie a hidden joy of twins that they dont talk about at the mothers of multiples meeting.

Hailey and nana are ok. they did not get sick. kylee is through the worst part of it now we just have to suck out all the ickyness and she will be fine.. hannah is few days behind her.

if any of you are interested we got some idea of the actually cost of the nicu stay- i was quibbling with the insurance company all day-- it was 17,000.00 per day per baby for the bed and the nurse and the monitors- that does not include any of the extras like formula or iv fluids or there oxygen tubes, those are all about 500.00 each per baby.
we have to pay about 600.00 co pay... i know i know that sounds bad but its 200.00 for me and then for the girls.

I'm doing really well with the house and the girls and Helen and Hailey
super mommy points currently 4
Hailey has two super big sister points

i hope all is well with you guys we area doing so well

1. Kylee's first bath. She didn't mind it too much. Hannah hated hers.

2.Tony with kylee and our guard dog. Sydney. Everytime one of the girls starts to cry he starts to bark - his alert bark-

3. mommy with her girls hannah on the left

4.first trip to the Dr's office as a family- also the first family outing.

5.Kylee is smiling and Hannah is screaming.

OK OK so maybe i was a little overzealous when I wanted to post " every single day ". I think I'm going to be damn lucky if I get to it every other day. We went to the pediatrician yesterday. It was a day of firsts. -first car ride together. - first outing with us as a family- first time to the Dr's office.

Everything is fine with the girls. Hannah finally made it to 5lbs. Kylee is 5.4 lbs. The only "hitch" in the plan was when the Dr suggested that we should get flu shots. All of us even Hailey and Helen. We all had to go and get them. Not pleasant but not a tetanus booster either.

Hailey is doing very well in school. She got a 100% on her spelling test, and she wrote a story about how thank full she was for mommy giving birth to her sisters and herself.

I'm a little tired... I'm drinking herbal tea ( with caffeine ) ALL day long. That seems to be helping. My mother in law Helen is also a big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! help. She is kind of a night owl anyway so she stays up with them at night.

I hope all is well with you guys.. we are all having a greeeeat time... really we are... i swear!!

3. bottle central

4. A picture of hailey when she was little- looks like kylee???

5. me- trying to schedule an appt at the peds office.

So we had a ruff night last night- both girls were very very clingy and wanted to be held. I was up with hannah at three am- she finnaly went back to sleep at five when kylee woke up. Then we were both up at seven with hannah again and hailey for school. At eight kylee joined in on the fun and they both started screaming!!!!!!!!

they have an uncanny nack of teaming up on you when your alone.. they did it to tony yesterday when helen and I went to get hailey from school. they would not stop for trity five minutes... in desperation and with a pretty bad headache. We all walked outside- as soon as the sun hit there faces they were fine. They wanted to stay outside. so i walked them back and forth in front of our house for about another fifteen twenty minutes then i put them in the stroller and we walked back and forth till tony came home. then i fed them both and changed them and then i was trying to set them down for a nap and it was defcon 5 i tell yout hey both started screaming- tony was on the phone with a client and could not help me- The dog was barking( to try to tell me that the girls were crying) so we went back out to the stroller. And then tony and us walked around the block a couple more times... then helen got here ( amen) then her and tony took the girls while I took a shower. they have left to get lunch and the girls are temporarily at peace. So im posting now-- please pray for me to have strength- with no sleep

energy-with not food and a sence of humor- even when its not funny!!!!

So we did not get to post yesterday...sorry about that but with everything else that is going on. I am going to play the twin card. My mother in law Helen got here yesterday( AHHHHHHHHHHH) she has been such a great help with the girls including Hailey. She is also helping us at night so I got five hours of sleep last night. I feel much better.

Kylee is the more ( mellow) of the two. She wakes up and cries and needs to be fed and changed and then she just drifts off to sleep. Hannah is the more ( plucky ) of the two. She wants to be held ALL the time. She is more clingy and needy. She is so attached to her mommy, and I love that. She feels safe and secure with me...

Hailey is still having some adjusting to do, she stopped doing her work at school...so she has ALOTof homework to do now. We figure there will a few hiccups, right.

I hope all is well with all of you guys, we are doing so well. Even with everything else that is going on it is so great.

4.Mommy with Hannah and Daddy with Kylee
5. Our friend Heather and mom tag teaming dinner time.

Hannah came home today. The girls are back together again. We have had a GREAT day. They are on a schedule ( thank you SMH NICU) they wake up every three or four hours, feed and change them and they are good to go for another three hours.

We had a few visitors come over today to see the girls but for the most part we are just trying to get into our own routine. Everyone is adjusting well except for the *$#%^ cat!!!!!

She peed on everything that she could. She has been exiled to the back patio. Our friend Heather brought us some dinner which was awesome. Crab legs and wings from hooters- yeah baby!!!

Sydney is being super super protective of the girls, he is doing very very well with the changes and new smells.

I hope that while Hailey is in school we may take them out in the front yard for a few minutes tomorrow.
Hope all is well with everyone else- cause we are soooooooooooo great!!!!!

Sept 7 2007

So the girl's will be home by Sunday night. I am leaving in an hour or so to go stay overnight with Kylee in a private room, she will be totally monitor free. It's just gonna be the two of us in a "private" room. I can call for the nurse If I have to, but for the most part it's just the two of us.

Kylee will be released tomorrow afternoon and then Hannah will be released on Sunday afternoon. Helen ( my mother in law ) will be here as of Monday afternoon.

I'm getting a little anxious, I am looking at this experience as " Boot-Camp". As many of you know routine and order and patience... not really my strong point's. But that is why god gave me twins those are the traits that I'm going to be relying on very heavily in the very very near future. So while this may be REALLY REALLY hard. I am going to some out of this experience a stronger and better mother!!!!!!!-- And that will have been worth it.

I feel like I'm on the bus on the way to the camp right now- I'm still not really sure what I'm getting myself into. They both seem so sweet and quite and timid--- when I only se them for an hour or two a day in such a controlled environment ( the NICU ) its hard to judge what I'm jumping into.

Please feel free to check this blog often, i am hoping ( HA HA ) post at least once a day even if its at 4:00 in the morning. I hope you all have an experience like this at one point on your lives this is the most "love" I have eve felt... It is Awesome!!!

sept 5 2007

So the girls are doing much better. Hannah has a heart murmur and had an echo cardiagrahm done the Dr's assure us that they re is nothing to be concerned with. They are both breastfeeding now- Kylee is much better at it then Hannah. She's a real natural.

Tony is still taking care of alot of things around here.. all the dishes and the laundry and the dinners and me and the dog etc... he is still working as much as he can. He is also taking Hailey back and forth to school

The girls were born on the 15Th of August, and Hailey started school on the 20Th... so I have not even met her teacher for this year yet.

We are hoping that the girls will be able to come home by next Monday. They are 3 weeks old today... They will be 37 gestational weeks on Friday - that's a good time as far as the NICU is concerned. They may have to come home on Brady monitors but I think that it will be OK either way.

I want to recommend -thewaytohappiness.org- there are 21 principals to live by and those have been really helpful to me in the last month or so... be temperate...love and help your children...Etc.

I'm thinking that it will be alot easier for me to just post on this blog when ever i can as opposed to sending out alot of emails... I hope no one minds... i think this will be the best way to keep in touch for a little while my priorities are going to change.

Here's to -- being a good mommy--
